"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."

So this is the day.I start blogging on the real.I think that Back to the Grind white mocha did the trick…I’m up and it’s 2:24am.
I really want to start this by telling you who I am.
My name is Cynthia Huerta Cortés. This is hard…harder than I thought. To be candid about who you are..it’s not so easy.
My name is a good start. My Mama tells the story that my Dad wanted to name me Barbara. To call me Barbie.Jajajaja! My Mama convinced him otherwise. I honestly don’t think the name would fit.I am far from a Barbara but farther from being a Barbie.
My family comes from Guadalajara, Jalisco. Mexico. That is where my roots lie. You know when you think of running away and you dream to run to that special, beautiful place. My place is there. If I could pick up and leave I would run there.
I would say I am a voracious reader. There is something wonderful about picking up a book and getting lost in it.It’s unlike any other feeling I’ve ever had. I feel free when I read.
I do art. I draw, paint, carve and print. Mostly when I do art I connect. I connect to the deepest, most inner feelings that I won’t otherwise express. It truly is cathartic to create.. and put it out there so that someone else will connect.
There are many things I am. Mostly I am someone who strives to be a better person. Mostly I am trying to find my personal legend.
My beginning with printing.
