"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."

I just watched this movie with a dear friend of mine.

It was between this and another movie but Young Victoria won.I am happy it did.

I often think whether love like this exists.Would a man really take a bullet for the woman they love? Can love really do that?Often times I don’t believe it.Maybe it’s the grand chip on my shoulder or maybe it’s just something I haven’t truly witnessed. While watching this act of kindness…tears fell from my eyes.I tried to keep them inside but they refused, it seemed they had a life of their own.I let them fall.Better to celebrate them than to fight them.Maybe love like this…..selfless love does exist.I truly hope so.

So excited about my TOMS….so cute!!!!Can’t wait to get them!

So excited about my TOMS….so cute!!!!Can’t wait to get them!

I want to admit something….I had a guilty pleasure.

Yes I know that we all do.Mine became a little embarrassing toward the end because two AWFUL characters bombarded my guilty pleasure.

Yes…. I loved The Hills.

Lauren Conrad was my girl!!!I mean she was always so nice and seemed so real and down for her girlfriends. She was a girls girl. I could relate to her.I mean her fail attempt at catching the eye of the love of her life(at the time anyway), trying to figure out who she was, and staying true to herself amidst a sea of haters.

I loved her! When she came out with a line of clothing…

Aaaaah man I was in heaven! Her line has just gotten better every season!I think it is so amazing right now!

I just purchased LC Lauren Conrad Chiffon Maxi Dress and can I just say it’s dreamy! The whole spring line is ultra feminine, romantic and just plain lovely. If you have time pop into Kohls and be amazed….I am a happy girl right now!

Press the title and it will take you straight to her spring line!FALL IN LOVE!

When I was sick this was all I yearned for (well that and a soy chai….and a biscotti!) and finally last week I was able to go to Barnes and get my books! Can I just say that I have the biggest girl crush on Olivia Munn…when you get her book just turn to Chapter 8!

So far Joanne Harris is proving once again to be a thought provoking author. She takes you to Paris with Vianne Rocher and keeps you hoping for the best on their journey to find peace and acceptance. I’m starting to think if I have a girl (ummmm one day in the FAR FUTURE!)Her name will be Vianne Isabel….Isabel of course from Isabel Allende…. my hero.

Ok that’s it for me.This week has been crazy.Sad time, Happy time all kinds of times and really I am just thankful for time. With all the people I love. I couldn’t help myself so friends pick up a book and READ!Un Beso!

I think of the many things I could have done differently. Especially when I am sick. I feel vulnerable, rubbed raw, exposed and contemplating my wrongs with you. And the fact that my wrongs are never quite erased.

The start.

So this is the day.I start blogging on the real.I think that Back to the Grind white mocha did the trick…I’m up and it’s 2:24am.

I really want to start this by telling you who I am.

My name is Cynthia Huerta Cortés. This is hard…harder than I thought. To be candid about who you are..it’s not so easy.

My name is a good start. My Mama tells the story that my Dad wanted to name me Barbara. To call me Barbie.Jajajaja! My Mama convinced him otherwise. I honestly don’t think the name would fit.I am far from a Barbara but farther from being a Barbie.

My family comes from Guadalajara, Jalisco. Mexico. That is where my roots lie. You know when you think of running away and you dream to run to that special, beautiful place. My place is there. If I could pick up and leave I would run there.

I would say I am a voracious reader. There is something wonderful about picking up a book and getting lost in it.It’s unlike any other feeling I’ve ever had. I feel free when I read.

I do art. I draw, paint, carve and print. Mostly when I do art I connect. I connect to the deepest, most inner feelings that I won’t otherwise express. It truly is cathartic to create.. and put it out there so that someone else will connect.

There are many things I am. Mostly I am someone who strives to be a better person. Mostly I am trying to find my personal legend.

My beginning with printing.
